A Heaven And Hell Issue

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14)

Thought For Today:
Sometimes, we can tell that people are becoming weary and growing cold in their faith when they start saying things like "I don't believe that" or "That's just your opinion" or "Is it really a heaven or hell issue?" Essentially, when they ask the latter, they are saying that if it won't prevent them from getting into heaven, then it's acceptable to do. But if it will cause them to go to hell, then they won't do it. It's interesting how some people think, isn't it? However, it's important to note that many people don't know what constitutes a heaven or hell issue. In my experience, I've found a few things in Scripture that qualify as such. So, I'd like to share them with you.

  1. "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).

  2. "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him"(Hebrews 11:6).

  3. "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15).

  4. "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17).

  5. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23)

  6. "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death"(Revelation 21:8).

  7. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it"(Matthew 7:21-27). So the next time someone asks you if it is a heaven or hell issue, tell them what Jesus said.
