An Ounce Of Prevention
LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them. (Isaiah 26:16)
Thought For Today:
Do you know why Benjamin Franklin once said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"? Essentially, this means that it's better to prevent a problem from happening in the first place than to have to deal with the aftermath of not preparing for it. By taking some time to avoid potential issues, we can save ourselves a lot of time, effort, and money that we would have had to spend later on. In the same way, it's wise to pray to God before we find ourselves in a difficult situation. Rather than waiting until we're in trouble, we can pray regularly to better understand God's love and guidance. This way, we can avoid many problems because the Spirit will direct us according to God's Word. Just like how an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure, daily prayers can prevent a lot of trouble.
