A Sound Mind
John 14:1
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Thought For Today
Have you ever had troubling thoughts? Do you find yourself worried and concerned about things you have little control over? Well, Jesus is the antidote for your troubled mind. Webster defines an antidote as a remedy or other agent used to neutralize or counteract the effects of a poison. A troubled mind can be like poison. It can begin to spread through your system like wildfire. A troubled mind can affect you physically such as sleeplessness, aches, pain, loss of focus, weird dreams, perplexity, and despair. Mental exhaustion will cause you to question everything you do.
Joel said, "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision"( Joel 3:14). We must follow the apostle Paul's advice and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 12:5). Remember, the mind is a terrible thing to waste. You need it. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Sing this song with me:
In the chaos, You are the peace, In my suffering, You're here with me
In the darkness, You never leave, God of mercy, You're walking with me, I surrender anxiety, All the striving has to cease, In this moment, You're still the King, This is the gift You are giving to me
[Chorus]
A sound mind for the spirit of fear, A sound mind so that I can see clearly, A sound mind, Your Spirit is here, A sound mind, a sound mind
