Balanced

"A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight" (Proverbs 11:1).

Thought For Today:

When dealing with our grandkids, my wife always like to keep things even. If she gives to one, she gives to the other two as well. It has been reported that some butcher shops used to use unbalanced scales to cheat people on the amount of meat they were buying. Many of the scales had not been calibrated for years. So when the people bought a certain amount of meat, they thought they were getting 10 pounds but may only have been getting 7 or 8 because of the uncalibrated or unbalanced scales.

Solomon said that a false balance is an abomination to the Lord. He said that God hates it when people are cheated. In other words, Solomon was saying that it turns God's stomach. Even in ministry, people need to be given the full truth even if it hurts. That's what they are coming for. I know that there will be those who only want you to tell them what they want to hear. But others want the full truth. Jesus said that we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us. Therefore, equality and impartiality should be the hallmark of us all.
