Choose Wisely

And I have given you a land for which ye did not labor, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and olive yards which ye planted not do ye eat. Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt, and serve ye the LORD. And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:13-15)

Thought For Today:

At some point in our lives, we are faced with difficult decisions that we must make. Even in the ministry, when we encounter uncertain times, we must decide whether we will persevere or give up. Joshua instructed the children of Israel to choose which god they would serve, saying, "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell." However, he also declared his own decision, stating that he and his household would serve the Lord. Choosing to serve God is a crucial decision that should not be taken lightly. Sadly, many people wait until it's too late to make that choice. They only turn to God when they are facing troubles such as financial debts, marital issues, unplanned pregnancies, or when their lives are spiraling out of control. While God is always there to help in these situations, it's better to make the decision to serve Him when we are in a good state of mind. One of the challenges of coming to God with problems is that we may struggle to trust Him to fix them. Our hearts are often broken, and we fail to realize that God needs time to put them back together. Unfortunately, people don't always give Him enough time to work on their behalf because the enemy of their soul makes them feel guilty. The decision you make today about serving God will ultimately determine your final destination. So, choose wisely as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
