Did You Hear What I Said?

"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings"(Proverbs 1:5-6)

 Thought For Today:

Hearing loss, like so many other medical conditions, has become a concern to the audiology profession. With all of the loud music, both in and out of the church, many seem to have trouble hearing what is being said. It seems as though so many are having to get hearing aids to help them be able to hear more clearly. I often hear parents yelling and screaming at their children, "Did you hear what I said?" And the child's reply is, "I didn't hear you." Maybe the child is blocking them out because they are yelling and screaming so much, but then, on the other hand, there just may be a blockage of some sort in the ear.  Satan wants to fill your ears with words of doubt and confusion.  If he can get you to listen to his evil and perverse ways, he knows you will not be able to hear what Jesus is speaking to you. Solomon said that a wise man will hear, and will increase in learning. Jesus said constantly, "He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear." We must pay particular attention to others when they are talking to us, and we must give heed to every word of God when it is spoken.  A person who listens to God's word is able to keep himself motivated and committed to God when he heeds what is being said. But if he doesn't pay attention, and does not listen, then he can be easily led astray.
