1 Corinthians 7:21-22
Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant"

Thought For Today

In the sixties and seventies, a certain group of people stood declaring their desire to be free. Freedom to many meant doing whatever they wanted. They believed no one could tell them what to do. They displayed signs declaring, I'll live the way I want to! If it feels good, do it! And that attitude has spilled over into today’s generation of young people resulting in sin running ramped throughout the land.
Paul said that if we are servants of the Lord, then we are His freeman. Nothing should have us bound. Even our past should be wiped away (2 Corinthians 5:17). But freedom is not living rebelliously, without rules. The Gospel is the bridge that brings you to freedom. But you have to walk across the gospel bridge knowing that you are leaving your sins, hurts, loneliness, and problems in your past. It is your choice. Scripture says, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19). True freedom is, doing whatever you want as long as it’s mentally, morally, spiritually, and legally right. Freedom is not the absence of rules. Ex: The jail is full of people who have lived the way they wanted but they are not free today. Are you the Lord's servant? Then you are His freeman. Through Jesus Christ, you are a Free-Man.

Sing this song with me,

You are Waymaker, miracle worker, Promise keeper, light in the darkness, My God, that is who You are.
