God Can Do Anything
And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
(Numbers 11:31)
Thought For Today:
When the Israelites expressed to Moses their dissatisfaction with manna and requested meat instead, the Lord responded with displeasure. He informed Moses that He would supply them with flesh for 30 days in such abundance that it would overwhelm them. Moses inquired of the Lord if they should kill the cattle and livestock to feed themselves.
The Bible mentions over 600,000 footmen, this was only the men that could go to war, it was not everyone. So, if you were to add everyone, you would probably be talking over 2 million people. God asked him if he thought His hand was too short that He couldn't do what He said. And scripture says, "And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth." Do you know how much quail this was. Let me see if I can give you some insight. According to measurements, a day's journey during this time was approximately 24 miles per day. And a cubit was approximately 22 inches long, or the length of a man's arm. So God dropped quail about 48 miles long and 31/2 feet high. Talk about a all-you-can-eat buffet.
Now you should be able to understand why Jesus could take the 2 fish and 5 loaves and feed the multitude. He's God. Abraham was asked, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord?" The answer is no—there is nothing our God cannot do.
