Psalms 107:1-8

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Every promise that God made in His Word has been fulfilled. All that He said will happen, has happened. Therefore, the psalmist advises us to be grateful to the Lord because He is always good. God's goodness is constant and unwavering. These words are not just to be spoken in times of prosperity, but they are to be the guiding principles of our lives. These are words that help you stay on the right path. They are words that you pass down to your children and bear witness to. When you are at home or driving, you realize how truly good God is. God is always good and cannot change who He is. David said, "Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life." Therefore, we should not only praise the LORD for His goodness, but also for His wonderful works towards humanity. If you think God doesn't have your best interests at heart, try living without Him.
