God Keeps His Promises

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them. (Exodus 2:24-25)

 Thought For Today:
Do you ever feel disheartened when it seems that your prayers are not being answered? By walking in faith rather than relying solely on what we see, we can maintain our perseverance even when answers are not immediately apparent. The Bible states that God heard the groaning of the children of Israel and remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God then looked upon the children of Israel and showed them His favor. God remains faithful to His promises and oaths as stated in His word. Although scripture may say that He remembered, this implies that God was always aware of His covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It should not be interpreted as forgetfulness. The only thing that God does not recall is our past sins that have been forgiven. Often, when we face challenges that seem overwhelming, it could be God's way of preparing us for His future plans for us. When considering what Jesus and the early church experienced, it was not an easy journey. They had to endure persecution, beatings, and even imprisonment. If you feel that your prayers are unanswered, consider these two questions: First, is there any known wrongdoing in your life that might be affecting the response (Isaiah 59:1-2)? Second, is the situation truly beyond your capacity to manage? If it were, intervention would have occurred. It appears that you can handle it, which is why intervention has not happened. However, further reflection may be necessary if it is due to the former reason.
