He Never Fails

Genesis 47:12-17

And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread, according to their families. And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine. And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh's house. And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth. And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail. And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.

Thought For Today:
I keep hearing people talking about how bad the economy is. As Christians, our hope is not in this world’s economy but in God's economy. David said, "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread" (Psalms 37:25). While there was a famine in the land of Egypt, the children of Israel, which represents the church, had plenty of food to eat. Even when those in Egypt, (which represents the world), realized their money was no good, God's people were still provided for. This teaches us not to put our trust in man but in God. We have so many promises from God that He will not leave us nor forsake us. He even tells us to open our mouth and He will fill it. So keep your trust in the Lord no matter how bad things look around you. If God used a raven to feed Elijah, if God provided an endless supply of cornmeal for the widow, and He used two fish and five loaves to feed the multitude, God will not forsake you either. God can still provide a table in the wilderness.
