I See Men As Trees

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. (Isaiah 55:12-13)

Thought For Today:

I love to see people clapping their hands in church. Isaiah said that all of the trees of the field shall clap their hands. David said, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper" (Psalms 1:1-3). Jeremiah said, "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit" (Jeremiah 17:7-8). After leading the blind man out of town, Jesus spat on his eyes and put his hands on him. Then he asked if he could see anything. And he looked up, and said, "I see men as trees, walking" (Mark 8:23-24). As a tree planted by water is strong, alive and fruitful, we who are rooted in Christ should be the same. Isaiah was referring to a spiritual tree, not a natural one, when he said the trees of the field would clap their hands. This spiritual tree represents you.
