I’m A Soldier
2 Timothy 2:1-4
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Thought For Today:
It takes commitment to be a soldier. Many people have joined the military only to soon go AWOL or want out. Many will quit and walk away because they see it as being too hard. This scripture is not refering to the United Sates Armed Forces, it’s refering to the church. Being a soldier in the church is easy, but we sometimes make it hard. When we become born again Christians, Jesus chooses us to be on His team, in His army. The only chanllenge is the initial learning curve on how to effectivly become His representatives. Paul calls us ambassadors for Christ. When we understand who we are and who we representwe should be proud to be a soldier of Christ. We need to learn to endure hardness as good soldiers, soldiers for Jesus Christ.
