It’s Who You Are
"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God. "(Numbers 15:37-41)
Thought For Today:
When God calls us out of the world, He doesn't want us to forget where we came from. Like the children of Israel, we should remember everything that the Lord has done for us. We must remember that we are a peculiar treasure to Him. The children of Israel were to put a blue fringe in the border of their garments to remind them of God's commands.
As someone who has experienced spiritual renewal, do your attire, garments, dress, and appearance reflect God's commandments and covenant with you? God wants his people to be distinct from this world. Your code defines you. Your appearance speaks a lot about whether you have truly come out of the sinful way of the world or not. Paul told the church at Corinth, "And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?" (1 Corinthians 14:7-8)
I pray that you aren't sending out the wrong signal, because if you are, someone else may miss the sound of the trumpet in the last days. Your garments reminder you to be holy unto the Lord. Always remember, "Holiness is not what you wear, holiness is who you are. And who you are, is what you will wear."
