Just Keep Doing What’s Right
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)
Thought For Today:
What we think shapes our future and defines who we are. Our minds determine our expectations, achievements, happiness, and very existence. Paul told the church at Philippi: "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Philippians 4:8). We must guard our thoughts. Solomon said, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23). All of life's actions flow from our thoughts. This is why the Bible says, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). In today's world, our minds can be filled with distractions that prevent us from focusing on things that are pure and noble, as Paul spoke of. Paul advised that our minds should be fixed on God. If we don't keep our thoughts on the Lord, we may find ourselves worrying about various problems and situations. We might start believing that we don't have enough money, or that we lack the right status, partner, car, job, and so on. In other words, we start looking inward instead of outward, focusing on what we lack rather than appreciating what we have. Peter tell us, "For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God"(1 Peter 2:19-20). So let me encourage you, don't become weary. Do what you know is good and right even if the world rejects you.
