Live By Faith
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
Thought For Today:
The principle of "the just shall live by faith" is mentioned four times in the Bible: Habakkuk 2:1-5; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:10-11; Hebrews 10:38. In Habakkuk, we witness the contrast between the lifestyles of the unrighteous and the righteous. The unrighteous are conceited and rely on their own abilities, while the righteous put their trust in God. For them, faith is not just a philosophical belief, but rather a way of life. They live their entire lives in faith, being saved, sustained, and strengthened by it. Though their faith may be put to the test in various ways, they endure with joy because they know that it produces patience. Faith assures them that God is working out His perfect will in their lives, and they can patiently wait and endure any hardship. Faith does not make life easy, but it does make everything possible. Interestingly, the letter "I" is the center letter in the word "faith," indicating that our faith relies on our own efforts to nurture it. Therefore, if you feel that your faith is weakening, take a moment to reflect on yourself. It is your responsibility to raise it to a higher level.
