Living Epistles
2 Corinthians 3:1-3
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Thought For Today:
What do people read when they see you? What message does your life reveal? If we stop and consider our lives, we are like billboards in many ways. People are passing by and reading us every day. Some may zoom by, while others will take close notice. What we wear, how we look, how we stand or sit in the crowd. Our attitudes and/or humor send out a message to others. Paul told the church at Corinth, "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men." Whether you like it or not, people read you like a book. When the fruit of the spirit is in our lives daily, and when people see us, they should read Jesus from every point and part of us. Isn't it amazing that we still talk about Jesus today? And we only read His story from the pages of the Bible. But His children reflect Him. John said that he supposed that if the books were written of all the things that Jesus did, the world could not contain them. When your life impacts others, it will always be talked about. A book is so much better when you know the author. What has Jesus written in your life that He wants others to see?
