Missed Opportunities
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:10)
Thought For Today:
The story is told of a man who one day realized how little he did for his wife. So to make up for his short coming, he decided to stop on the way home, buy her some of her favorite flowers, and bring them to her. When he got home, instead of coming though the backdoor and just setting the items on the table, he chose to ring the front door bell and surprise her when she opened the door. When he rang the bell, she came to the door and just looked at him and said, "The washer is broke, the dishwasher isn't working, the vacuum stopped, and now you come home drunk."
How many opportunities would you say that you have each day to do something good for others and you miss that opportunity? There's an old saying that opportunity knocks once, and if you miss it, you may not get another chance. Paul said, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." We should always look for opportunities where we can do good. I believe that if we all would do this, it would make our homes, churches, schools, and communities a whole lot better.
