More of you Jesus

But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. (2 Corinthians 8:14-15)

 Thought For Today:

One of the surest ways to determine discontentment is by wanting more. When God was providing Manna to the children of Israel, they were given a certain amount per day. Everyone was given the same amount. It turned into worms if they got more than they were supposed to. God, in so many ways, was trying to teach them contentment and how to rely on Him for their provisions.

But even today, we see people hoarding more than they need. In some countries, people do not have refrigerators or storage areas, so they purchase their food daily. They rely daily on what they can get for that day. Paul told the church at Corinth that God was teaching them equality. If we never learn that in God's kingdom, everyone is equal and has the same opportunities, we can become discontented and leave the church, which always gives Satan the victory. The only "thing" we should want more of is God. It is believed that we have the capacity to experience as much or as little of God’s presence as we desire. Personally, I find that I am never fully satisfied in my spiritual journey and always seek a deeper connection with God.
