No Ordinary Day

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.(Acts 2:1-4)

Thought For Today:

You know, those days that begin as ordinary days, and then disaster happens, bad news comes, or things we did not expect come our way just out of nowhere. 9/11 started as an ordinary day, and then America and the world found themselves in shock as those planes crashed into the World Trade Center and The Pentagon. I'm certain that the individuals in New York City, Nashville, and New Orleans all started their day as ordinary, but then disaster struck. James tells us that we don't know what a day may bring forth. "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that" (James 4:13-15). The day of Pentecost was just another Jewish feast day or holiday that they were to keep under the law. I'm sure it began just as other ordinary feast days. Little did they know that this day would be the day that God would begin to build His New Testament Church. This day would be the day that many prophecies would be fulfilled. This day would not be an ordinary celebration; it would be a new birth day for 3,120 people. And every day since, someone starts their day as ordinary but soon finds themselves being born again. Friend, once you experience Pentecost, there will be no more ordinary days for you!
