Prevent Truth Decay

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed (Galatians 1:6-9).

Thought For Today

If you've ever been summoned to appear as a character witness for someone in a court of law, you know that prior to them putting you on the stand, they ask you, "Do you solemnly swear, to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God?"  If a person lies, then they perjure themselves, and render their testimony irrelevant to the case.

Paul asked the church at Galatia, "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? "(Galatians 3:1-3).
Paul knew that this church was established upon truth.  And now they had gone away from truth and Paul wanted to know who had tricked them into believing something else. He told them that he marveled that they were so soon removed from the grace of God unto another gospel.  This Gospel came with grace.  Do you know what grace is?  Grace is getting something that you didn't work for.  It's a gift.  That's why you are saved by grace.  It's a gift that you don't have to work for. Is the Gospel you are hearing the truth? Are you at a crossroads where you no longer know what you believe because the leaders over you have changed their stance on certain issues?  Let me encourage you today: truth will always be truth.  No matter how you cut it, slice it, or dice it, it will still be true.  No matter who is teaching, preaching, or writing it, it will still be true.  And truth will always make you free (John 8:31&36).  Look at your life right now.  Do you feel liberty, excitement, and good about yourself as a Christian?  If not, you may not be in complete truth.  Paul said,  "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works" (2 Corinthians 11:14-15).   But to receive liberty, be excited, and feel good about yourself, you must not only hear the truth, you have to live the truth.   The next time you attend church, ensure you have your Bible with you.  You will want to compare what you are hearing to what is written in the Word to ensure that what you are hearing is correct.
