Reverence

Then Job answered and said, Even today is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning. Oh, that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat! I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered forever from my judge. (Job 23:1-7)

Thought For Today:
During his trial, Job expressed his deep desire to find God and plead his case before Him, saying "Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments." According to Job, he would give God a piece of his mind if he ever had the chance to meet Him face to face. Have you ever felt the same way? I'm sure many people have. However, even the bravest of individuals would soon realize the gravity of appearing before God and reconsider their boldness. It is said that even the centurion acknowledged Jesus' authority, stating that he was not even worthy for Jesus to come under his roof. This is a reminder that God is always present and ready to listen, even though many people fail to recognize it. However, some people may feel intimidated by God's presence, like Job who said, "Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him" (Job 23:15). It was only later that Job realized his mistake in speaking foolishly due to his pain and listening to criticism. Even King Hezekiah was troubled and feared when Isaiah revealed to him what God had said (Isaiah 38:1-3). Although we serve an Almighty, loving, and compassionate God, we must still show Him respect and reverence.
