Seasons Change

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."(Psalms 1:1-6)

Thought For Today:

Are you aware of the fact that you are currently experiencing a specific spiritual season? Let me clarify. Summer is characterized by heat and humidity; winter is marked by cold and darkness; fall is cool and vibrant; and spring is lush and flourishing. Whether we like it or not, we are always in one of these seasons depending on our outlook. As born-again believers, we should spend most of our time in the Spring or Fall. Since we are filled with His Spirit and put our trust in Him, we should be vibrant and flourishing.

As Jeremiah informs us, "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

The Psalmist also encourages us that, "The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him" (Psalms 92:12-15).

Palm and cedar trees are classified as evergreens, which means that they always display signs of life. As our source of life comes from the Lord, it is essential that we live with joy and excitement at all times. We should remember that there is a time and a season for everything under the sun.
