Spiritual Power
Acts 1:4-8
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Thought For Today:
Someone said if you have the money you have power. I guess I could agree with that statement to a degree. But I must say Spiritual Power can not be bought. The psalmist said, "God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God"(Psalms 62:11). The difference between a person filled with Spiritual power, and a person who only has influential power, is temperance. Which is moderation or self-restraint. God's power causes one to react differently. They do not exalt themselves, but they use their power to exalt the Giver of the power, Jesus Christ. But those who rely solely on influential power, use it to exalt themselves. Jesus said that once we receive His power, we would be witnesses for Him throughout the entire world. When the Holy Ghost is within you, you never have to worry about power depletion. If I were you, I would not seek influential power, I would seek Spiritual power. Because with every encounter in His presence, your life is renewed with Spiritual power.
