Thankfulness

And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them,  Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. (Luke 17:11-19)

Thought For Today:

Wouldn't it be great if America had a revival of gratitude? Gratitude is expressing thankfulness for everything that is done for you. It's showing appreciation and gratefulness at all cost. But today, there seems to be a loss of gratitude in the land.  Paul said that in the last days, man would be unthankful (2 Timothy 3:2).  We must not allow this last day spirit to invade the church nor our lives. There seems to be this cry of, " I want" rather than "I need." We must not allow a spirit of greed to invade us, we must be thankful.  You may say, "I don't have anything to be thankful for."  I say, "Yes you do."  Read Psalm 136, and notice that at the end of all 26 verses it says, "Because his mercy endureth forever." Therefore, you need to be thankful because you are not consumed because God's mercies are new for you every morning (Lamentations 3:22).  Paul informs us that in everything we are to give thanks because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:18). You may ask, How can I give thanks for everything when they hurt me?  I believe this scripture means that we should never lose our attitude of gratitude, no matter what the situation or circumstance may be. When the 10 lepers were cleansed, only one returned to give thanks. There is always some goodness, completeness, and wholeness that takes place when gratitude returns.  When you give God thanks, He'll make you whole.
