The Perfect Gift

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17).

Thought For Today:
Well, it's that time of year when everyone starts wondering what gift to buy. Many may even go into a state of depression trying to determine if they will get the right gift and if the gift they purchase will be what makes others happy. When the Magi showed up to visit Jesus, they brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And even these were not perfect gifts. James tells us that every good and perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. So every good gift and every perfect gift is from God. We can't buy them in a store or with money. remember what Peter told Simon the sorcerer, "But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money"(Acts 8:20). Good gifts and perfect gifts that are from God are freely given. There is no amount of money that can buy them. Peter told the people on the day of Pentecost, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call" (Acts 2:38-39). If you want to give someone a gift that will never tarnish and never wear out, give them Jesus, and they'll be thanking you for years to come.
