The Secret To Prosperity
“And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.” (2 Chronicles 31:20-21)
Thought For Today:
Hezekiah is listed as one of the good kings of Judah. Scripture says, that he did that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart.
He was not a half-hearted king. He did that which was pleasing to God, and he did it with all his heart. And he prospered. What a testimony. Some folks like to preach about prosperity, but there is no prosperity where there is no commitment to God and the things of God. Men may have great wealth and things, but that does not mean that they are prosperous. Prospering in God means that God is providing for you without your need to manipulate people and things. When you prosper in God, you are not weary, and filled with anxiety. Job prospered more than he suffered. If you want to prosper, the Lord says: “And ye shall seek me, and find me when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13). If you desire to prosper, devote yourself to God’s Word. As David said: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalms 1:1-3)
