Wait Wait Wait
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalms 27:13-14)
Thought For Today:
I am sure most of you have told your children to wait when they were nagging you for something. And your parents probably told you the same thing when you were younger. I often wonder how much of the burden people carry is due to their inability or unwillingness to wait. I have counseled many individuals about the importance of waiting to marry or to make significant purchases, but they often choose not to wait. In many cases, they are left carrying the consequences of their decisions. David said, "I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." David had learned the importance of waiting on God. Perhaps Samuel had informed him about what had happened to King Saul, which is why he didn't wait for Samuel to arrive and perform the sacrifices. David understood that God would come through for him, and he encouraged us with the words, "Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the LORD."
