Why Aren’t People Healed When We Pray?
Matthew 4:23-24
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
Thought For Today:
A traveling preacher who was gifted in healing came to a church and he was praying for people. A young boy was in the line and the preacher asked him what his problem was? The boy said, "It's about my hearing." The preacher took him by the ears and prayed for him. Then the preach asked him how his hearing was. The young boy said, "I don't know, it isn't until Friday."
The Bible said that they brought all sick people to Jesus and He healed them. I'm sure many will say, "Why aren't people healed when we pray for them?" The Apostle Paul said, "Though our outward man perish, yet our inward man is renewed day by day." In other words our attitude can be renewed day by day. Many times our attitude determines how God moves. We have to learn how to endure hardness as a good soldier for Jesus Christ. This body is temporal and we are going to suffer while in it. Therefore, we need to ensure that our soul is intact with Christ. Because as Peter said, One day, we are going to put off this tabernacle the same as Jesus did. So don't more focus on the outward man than you do your inward man. John lets us know that one day this suffering will be over and the pain gone. He said, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:1-4). If we are not healed here we will be healed over there.
