A Place of Refuge

In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Proverbs 14:26-27

Thought For Today:

It seems as though the more the wicked rule, the more confident they are in themselves than in God. They fail to realize that they shall soon be cut down like the grass. Even Asap almost found himself slipping away because of the wicked (Psalms 73); but when he went to church and heard the Word of the Lord, he knew that the wicked are in slippery places. Just because it seems that the wicked have the upper hand, fret not little flock, they shall soon be brought down. The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is strong confidence. In other words, the person who honors and respects God will experience Gods provision. He understands that God is the giver and the taker of life and that it is He that sits upon the throne of judgment. Solomon tells us that confidence in an unfaithful man is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint. They are both painful. But when we respect and give honor to our God, not only will we be confident and have a fountain of life flowing from us, but our children will also have a place of refuge for themselves too. Always remember, you are the best example for your children and grandchildren.
