Can You Keep Up?
If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
(Jeremiah 12:5).
Thought For Today:
How do you prepare yourself for tough times and how do you handle them? Jeremiah warns that if we let our equals, even saints, weary us, we won't be able to withstand more powerful things. The battlefield will challenge you and put your faith to the test. It will require you to be determined and resolute. You must have the endurance and stamina to go the distance and cross the finish line with strength. Otherwise, you may fall out along the way. Your success will depend on whether you train or complain. Winners train, losers complain. Winners finish strong. Losers don’t last. Jesus said, "And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved"(Matthew 24:10-13). Let me encourage you, my brothers and sisters, to finish strong. If something is worrying you, your eyes are more on it than Jesus. Isaiah said, " Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength" (Isaiah 26:3-4). "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not" (Galatians 6:9). Just around the corner and we will be home.
