Enduring Faith
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 10:35-11:1)
Thought For Today:
Life is unpredictable and we can never know when our time will come. As Paul said, our salvation draws near with each passing day. Therefore, we must hold onto our faith and not lose hope, for it will be rewarded. Paul spoke of his own faith in his final days, saying that he fought the good fight and kept his faith until the end. He looked forward to receiving a crown of righteousness, which is also promised to all who love the Lord. Moses is also an example of faith, choosing to suffer with God's people rather than enjoy the temporary pleasures of sin. He valued the reward of his faith more than the riches of Egypt. We too have a crown waiting for us, but we must persevere until the end to receive it. Faith is the key to receiving our desires and hopes, even when we cannot see them yet. So let us not lose our confidence or patience, for we will receive our promised reward if we do the will of God. We must remember that Jesus will return soon, and those who live by faith will be justified.
