Fired Up
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak anymore in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. (Jeremiah 20:9)
Thought For Today:
Have you ever had a powerful testimony that you couldn't wait to share with someone at church? Do you remember the moment when you received the Holy Ghost and felt an overwhelming sense of love, joy, and peace within you? Personally, I experienced a constant burning sensation inside me that made me want to share my experience with anyone who would listen, and I was ready to take on the devil right then and there. Did you feel the same way? Do you still feel that same passion today?
Jeremiah said that he couldn't keep the word of God to himself because it was like a flaming fire within him. When you have the word of God in your heart, you naturally want to share it with others. Just like the men on the road to Emmaus who felt their hearts burning within them as Jesus talked to them, and the disciples who were filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Sharing the word of God is a natural response to the power it holds within us. They didn't stay confined to the upper room; instead, they took to the streets of Jerusalem to preach Jesus Christ. If you possess the truth found in God's Word, it's natural to want to share it with others.
