Holy Garments
And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. (Exodus 28:4)
Thought For Today:
When God chose Aaron to be the priest of the temple, he told Moses to make holy garments for Aaron and his son. Why did God want their garment to be holy? Because God is holy, and the ministry always represents God in its duties. When a man or woman says that they are representatives of God are not concerned with their attire and how they look, they become a bad representation of who God is. I hear some say that it's not about how you look or what you wear because God looks at the heart. An outward expression of what is in your heart is seen by your attire and the garments you wear. An unkempt appearance is a sure example of a sinful heart. It may not seem that way, but somewhere deep down within is a root of pride and sin that has not been taken care of, and sooner or later, that root will bud and bring forth fruit of its kind. When Peter wrote to the church, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light"(1 Peter 2:9), he was letting us know that we are part of a Kingly ancestral-ship and that we needed to represent it well in everything that we do. We must always remember that without holiness shall no man see God(Hebrews 12:14). Holiness always begins with who we are and who we are representing.
