Magnification

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing"(Psalms 34:1-10).

Thought For Today:

It's incredible how much clearer things become when we use a magnifying glass or a microscope. However, some people tend to exaggerate their stories and lie to make you believe them. You might have heard about the fish that got away or the buck with a twelve-point rack. These stories tend to grow bigger with every retelling, like a snowball rolling down a hill covered in snow.

The Psalmist urges us to magnify and exalt the Lord together with him. But we cannot make God any bigger than He already is, as He encompasses the entire world and possesses omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence. What the psalmist is saying is that we should lift up the Lord with our worship and praise so that others may see Him for who He truly is - the King of kings and Lord of lords. We should continuously offer sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving to His name, allowing our worship to flow continually from our lips. The more we worship God, the clearer our understanding of Him becomes. Would you like to give it a try?
