The Gospel According To Love

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. (Mark 16:9-14)

Thought For Today:

Sharing the Gospel with people can feel like an overwhelming challenge at times. Some individuals find it difficult to believe that Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. While many people accept that Jesus died and was buried, the concept of resurrection can be challenging for them to grasp. Even Paul acknowledges this in 1 Corinthians 15:35, where he states that some may ask how the dead are raised and what form they take. However, the good news of the Gospel is that Christ will appear to us and live within us. Jesus assures us of this in John 14:18, where He states that He will not leave us desolate and will come to us.

According to the Bible, after His resurrection, Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene, who had been possessed by seven demons. She informed His followers, who were mourning and weeping, that He was alive and had been seen by her. Despite this, they did not believe it. Even those who had walked and talked with Jesus had difficulty accepting that He had risen from the dead. Therefore, it is understandable why conveying the Gospel message to others can be challenging.

So, how can we help people understand the Gospel? Jesus provides the answer in John 13:35, where He states that all will know we are His disciples if we show love to one another. Love can bridge gaps and help people receive the message of the Gospel with open hearts and minds.
