And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. (1 Samuel 16:23)

If someone were to ask you what your favorite music style is, what would you say? People have different preferences, some love country, some love urban, while others love contemporary or a mix of all. Personally, I enjoy listening to different music styles, but at home, I prefer country gospel because of how it uplifts Jesus and reminds me of heaven. It just makes me feel better and more positive.

I'm not saying that other music genres are bad, but I find that country gospel has a special way of uplifting my spirit. In the Bible, Saul was plagued by evil spirits and he asked David to play some soothing music for him. When David played, the evil spirits departed, and Saul was refreshed. This shows that music has a powerful effect on the soul. If you feel down or tormented, why not try listening to some uplifting music that edifies Jesus and refreshes your soul?
