Stressed Spelled Backwards Is Desserts.

"And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God" (1 Samuel 30:6).

Thought For Today:

The best remedy for stress is a balanced lifestyle. When people tell me their job and family is causing them to be under to much stress, what I've found is that they don't have things in balance or in the right order. Their priorities are out of order. Usually, God isn't first, and their family isn't second. It's more like the job is first, sporting events are in second place, a second job is third place, family is fourth place, and God is fifth place. Even though people may read their Bible sometime during the day, God is still not first. Their mind immediately goes to their job and their to do list.

Jesus will allow you to work in your own strength and it takes a toll on your mind, until you get God back in his rightful place. When life is out of balance, there isn't any fun in what you are doing. You begin to see it as a burden instead of something that you love to do. David was distressed. But what did he do? He encouraged himself in the Lord His God. When you are excited about God and His abilities, it will relieve your stress.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. In addition to putting God first, try getting your praise on. Praise the Lord in everything.
