Strong Confidence
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. (Proverbs 14:26-27)
Thought For Today:
It seems that the more wicked people are in power, the more confidence they have in themselves rather than in God. They fail to realize that they will soon be cut down like grass. Even Asaph almost found himself slipping away because of the wicked (Psalms 73); but when he went to church and heard the Word of the Lord, he knew that the wicked are in slippery places. Just because it seems that the wicked have the upper hand, fret not little flock, they shall soon be brought down. The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is strong confidence. In other words, the person who reverences and respects God understands that God will supply all his needs. He understands that God is the giver and the taker of life and that it is He that sits upon the throne of judgment. Solomon tells us that confidence in an unfaithful man is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint. They are both painful. When we respect and honor our God, we will be confident and have a fountain of life flowing from us. Our children will also find a place of refuge for themselves. Always remember, you are the best example for your children and grandchildren.
