Windows Of The Soul

Psalms 101:1-3

I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me"

Thought For Today:

The world of media is the prince of the power of the air. We find this scripture in Ephesians 2:1-3: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

I believe that social media has become our generation's primary deception tool for the devil. While many view social media as a useful means of sharing memories and showing support in times of need, it can also be a tool of deceit. If you want to test my theory, try telling your child that they are grounded from social media for one week and observe their reaction. You will likely witness one of those "all hell is breaking loose" moments.

More families have suffered due to online platforms such as dating sites and social media (Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) We constantly hear about people being robbed, raped, cheated on, and lied to after putting their trust in a social media outlet. The list of social media horror stories could go on and on, and so I’ll conclude by quoting the Psalmist, “…I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes…”

Colossians 3:1-2 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. This scripture tells us where our eyes should be. It has been said, “The eyes are the windows of the soul.” So be careful what you allow to feed your soul. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
