Are You In The Know?
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (Hosea 4:6)
Thought For Today:
It's puzzling how some people who identify as Christians can spend a fortune on education and still lack knowledge about God. How can any Christian endorse a political platform or person who doesn't value God and His Word? The prophet Hosea warned that people perish due to ignorance, and Jeremiah echoed the sentiment, saying that God's people are foolish and lack understanding. These messages aren't directed at sinners but at those who claim to know God, including those who pray, worship, and study His word. If God's people are being destroyed due to ignorance, then the church, regardless of denomination, isn't doing its job. Jeremiah said that God would send pastors to provide knowledge and understanding. David asserts that those who deny God are foolish and corrupt, while Solomon says that respecting God is the first step to gaining wisdom. Jesus emphasized the same thing, saying that apart from Him, we can do nothing.
