Strenuous Thoughts
And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
(Luke 24:38)
Thought For Today:
It seems that many people are currently dealing with various worries and concerns. I've had conversations with individuals who express that they struggle to sleep at night due to their worries about their children, schooling, employment, church growth, and more. These thoughts seem to be overwhelming their minds. However, Jesus reminds us not to be troubled but to trust in Him (John 14:1). As a child of God, why allow your thoughts to run wild and prevent you from resting? Why spend so much time worrying about things that ultimately don't matter? If Jesus is the Prince of Peace, then shouldn't His children be at peace? Jesus often told His disciples not to let their hearts be troubled. If we focus on things outside of our control, we will likely become anxious and troubled. It's important to remember that we can only control ourselves and do our best in everything we do. However, we should not drive ourselves to madness attempting to please others. It's not worth the mental strain and stress. Instead, try to find enjoyment in the tasks you are given and not let them consume you.
