Comfort Others
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. (2 Corinthians 1:1-6).
Thought For Today:
One of the things the Holy Ghost is called, is the comforter. Why does God give us the Holy Ghost? Is it so that we can speak in tongues? Is it so we can know that we now have salvation? Is it so we can boast of His love and power within us? Jesus often told His disciples, I have given you an example. The Holy Ghost infilling makes you an example before others of how a person should live and be. True leaders always set good examples for others to emulate. Paul said, "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." Notice, God comforts us so that we can comfort others. If you are one of those who always walk away when others are in need, you are not helping to comfort. I didn't say when they are in want, but in need. When people are suffering, they need a comforter. When people have been rejected, they need a comforter. When we think of the goodness of God and all that He has done for us we should want to be examples .
