Don’t Worry, Be Happy
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Our thoughts shape who we are and the path we take in life. Our expectations, achievements, happiness, and overall existence are influenced by what we allow to occupy our minds. In his message to the Philippi church, Paul advised, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things" (Philippians 4:8). We must be mindful of what we think about. Solomon also urged, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" (Proverbs 4:23). Our thoughts dictate our actions in life. The Bible states, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). In today's society, we are bombarded with negative thoughts that distract us from focusing on the pure and noble things Paul spoke about. Paul reminded us that our minds should be set on God. When we don't focus on the Lord, we tend to imagine problems and worry about various situations and dilemmas. We start believing that we lack money, status, a suitable spouse, a car, a job, and so on. Essentially, we turn inward instead of outward, and we become more aware of what we don't have instead of what we do. Worry is the most common disease among people, affecting their health and stealing their joy, which is their strength. The Bible mentions "Fear not" 144 times from Genesis to Revelation, indicating that God doesn't want His children to be anxious or troubled. So why are you worrying? What is the cure for worry? Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me"(John 14:1); "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"(Matthew 11:28-30).
