TrUSt

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him  (Nahum 1:7).

Thought For Today

Do you really trust God? Do you trust God more than anyone? The psalmist tells us, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man" (Psalms 118:8). Are you willing to wait for God to come through for you, without trusting anyone else? When Saul saw the multitude of Philistines, he took matters into his own hands instead of waiting for the prophet to come and offer sacrifices. Fear will convince you to not trust in God. Fear will convince you to take matters into your own hands. To trust God is to wait upon Him regardless of the cost. Nahum said that the Lord knows them that trust him. So when we say that we trust God are we being truthful to ourselves? I believe that one of the reasons we stop trusting in the Lord is when its not be done according to how I think it should be done. Remember God's ways are not our ways. If did everything according to the way we would, we would not need faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. For example, when we are sick, we may pray or have someone pray for us, but when we don't see immediate results, we begin to think God is not doing anything about it. And so over a period of time, we begin to trust man over God. I believe in every word of the Bible. I believe that when we pray, things are happening. We just need to cling to the Scripture and believe that His grace is sufficient and that all things work together for the good. I don't think that God will be upset with us if when we take the initiative to fix things we continue to trust Him for the wisdom and strength needed. David encourages us, "The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand" (Psalms 20:1-2;6). The word "Trust" has the word "Us" in it. Therefore, it takes "US" to bring about "Trust."
